Helping People Find Their Way Back to God in San Francisco

Written by Pat Masek on 20 December 2010. Posted in Residency

Aaron Monts, Lead Pastor of IKON Community, did a Leadership Residency with NewThing and is now helping people find their way back to God in San Francisco.  Here is a testimony of Katie and how she describes her journey at IKON, a NewThing Church:

"I was an alcoholic struggling with bulimia.  Not a good mix.  I had a horrible view of myself and in no way thought Jesus could ever want anything to do with me.  I was pretty messed up.  I started coming to IKON with my then boyfriend and I got connected with so many great people who told me that Jesus cared about me.  When my relationship ended with my boyfriend, I couldn't leave IKON.  So I stayed through the awkwardness and as a result, I found Jesus.  I am a completely different person now.  I am a recovering alcoholic, and no longer bulimic.  I am getting so much great help, support and prayers from my IKON community.  I wouldn't be where I am today without them."

Praise God for church plants like IKON who are helping people find their way back to God in the here and in the eternity.
