Restore Community Church Launch

On March 2, 2008, the newest NewThing church, Restore Community Church, was launched in Kansas City, Missouri. The dream for Restore began over a year ago when Troy McMahon felt God telling him that it was his turn to be missional and plant a church.

As he began to pray about where God was at work, the vision for Restore became clear when Dave Ferguson spoke with Troy about the dream of planting a church in Kansas City in conjunction with North American Christian Convention.

Troy, originally from Kansas City, felt this was a clear message from God that He had plans for Troy in Kansas City. The McMahon family, along with 20 other people from Community Christian Church, moved to Kansas City last summer to be a part of the launch team. All of their planning, praying and hard work was realized as 420 people walked through the doors of Park Hill High School to experience the same BIG IDEA that was happening across the nation in many other NewThing churches.

Said Troy of opening day, “It was an awesome day. God is so good. We prayed and prayed and God answered. We had some great stories of people far from God who are taking steps to Jesus. I love watching people get it!” Check out Restore Community Church at www.restorecc.org.
