Eric Metcalf - New Director of NewThing

We have had a great summer here at NewThing!  Community Christian Church, birthplace of NewThing, celebrated its 20 Year Anniversary by bringing together all 9 (soon to be 11) campuses.  Over 7,000 people showed up and we baptized over 100 people that day! God has been extremely generous to COMMUNITY over the past 20 years in introducing us to the world and I really believe the next 20 years with God’s help we will have a tremendous IMPACT in the world.

 

NewThing is continuing to expand.  We currently have over 30 churches/sites and we have doubled our networks from 3 to 6.  With this continued growth of NewThing, it has become apparent that we needed a gifted leader to oversee the day to day direction of this growing movement of reproducing churches.  When we looked at the team, Eric Metcalf became the obvious choice to be the director of NewThing. 

Eric has been a Campus Small Groups Director and the Adult Small Groups Champion (Executive Director over all of COMMUNITY’s Small Group Directors) as well as our NewThing Leadership Residency Director (a role focused on recruiting and developing reproducing church planters).  Eric understands the reproducing church and how to develop leaders and he will be at many of the conferences this fall so if you get a chance to connect with him, please welcome him as the new Director of NewThing!
