What is a Leadership Resident?

NewThing was started for one purpose: to catalyze a movement of reproducing churches.  In order for a reproducing movement to happen, we are asking God to help us send out the right people to start new reproducing churches and campuses.  We call these “right people” Leadership Residents.

Leadership Residents are those who are being called to something significant and feel God is leading them toward being a part of the reproducing movement. This happens in a variety of ways, but mostly plays itself out through church planting. So what does a NewThing Leadership Residency include? Good question! Here are few options and/or experiences within the program:

• An apprenticeship with a campus pastor or lead pastor at any of our NewThing Affiliates (e.g. Boston, Manhattan, Miami, Detroit, Kansas City, Denver, Chicago, etc.)
• Interact with staff in high-capacity roles.
• Experience the launch of a new site or church.
• Be trained on the fundamentals of leader reproduction.
• Interact with an online training experience that will equip you to be a reproducing leader.
• An option to enroll at Wheaton Graduate School with 25% off a M.A.

For now, God has given us three networks of churches that consist of about five churches each; soon those networks will multiply to six networks and soon 12 to 24 and so on. Imagine the sheer force of those Spirit-led networks and what God is going to do through them! However the reproduction of those networks is dependent upon the "farm system" of God's leaders, which is why we are inviting you to come and see if God is calling you into the reproducing movement.
