The Coaching Difference

Have you ever found a gap between your plan, your potential and your reality? Sometimes the biggest difference maker can be a coach.

Did you know that?

Of people who consciously decide to set a goal, ....25% achieve their goal.

Of people who decide when they will do it,....40% achieve their goal.

Of people who plan how they will do it, ....50% achieve their goal.

Of people who commit to someone else they will do it,....65% achieve their goal

Of people who have a specific accountability appointment with the person they committed to, ....95% ACHIEVE THEIR GOAL!

(Taken from a study on goal completion released by the American Society for Training and Development.)
NewThing Coaching is an on-going relationship designed specifically to help you succeed. It is the difference between 25% and 95%.

Our coaching program offers 3 components:

  1. Information – there is intellectual capital that we have learned in reproducing leaders and artists at every level in the church. NewThing coaching provides opportunities for you to bounce ideas off of an experienced coach as well as receive information as to what has worked and not worked in other places.
  2. Implementation – coaching gets you “un-stuck.” Everyone gets stuck in putting certain aspects of a plan into motion. Coaching helps you create a plan for implementation and then holds you accountable to accomplishing your plan. Have you ever gone to a conference or training and thought it was great stuff, but then went back home and walked right back into the chaos and the inertia of everyday problems; never implementing what you have learned? We can help you avoid that.
  3. Internalization – NewThing coaching provides an opportunity for you to receive coaching at any level that you find helpful to you. If your children’s leader is struggling in your implementation, we hook them up with our children’s ministry staff. If your student pastor is in need of something we provide a connection with our student ministry staff as a resource. Coaching is available at every level of leadership.

Earlier this week I sat at a table with 5 members of a newly formed church staff. As we dialogued about the launch plans and the potential of multi-site I began to ask them questions. Questions of what might be missing, questions of personal development and of what seemed to be confusing. As this highly talented, highly energetic team looked at me you could feel the shift. We went from adrenalin to practical. We went from potential to steps of action. One by one the members of this team spoke of what they needed to do to make their plan reality. An hour later the Lead Pastor asked me if I would be willing to follow up with each of his staff as he prepares to launch a church that reaches those who don’t like church.

Here at NewThing Network we have found coaching to be such a difference maker that we are expanding our coaching resources to meet our mission and to empower you to reach yours.

How does it work you ask? NewThing Coaching consists of on-site visits and phone coaching. The first thing we do is provide an on-site visit to create a detailed implementation plan for you and your team. This is then followed up upon and tweaked with bi-monthly coaching phone calls. The end result of this coaching process will provide you and your church with a clear step by step process leading to healthy and perpetual reproduction of ministry.  As a recipient of NewThing News we would like to provide a resource for you along with a free opportunity.

If you go to the NewThing website and click on the coaching link you will see an opportunity to receive “10 powerful questions”. Please feel free to gather these questions and use them to assess your own need for coaching. You may also want to use these questions to impact others on your team and in your church. When used as a tool these questions can begin to move anyone from potential to reality.

When it comes to coaching here at NewThing Network we want to say one simple thing: USE US! You’ll find the difference between what you want and what you get.
