Lakepoint Church Launch

. Posted in Churches

Written by Brian Hofmeister - Church Planter, Lakepoint Church

Lakepoint Church (Muskego, WI) is being planted this Fall because four local churches in the Milwaukee area partnered together – four NewThing Churches are providing the vision, manpower and financial resources to make this possible. Through their mutual commitment to the NewThing Network, Brooklife Church, Riverglen Christian Church, The Ridge Community Church, and Legacy Christian Church are raising the bar on what it means to be open-handed and team-oriented in church planting.

The Chicago Network is Expanding

Written by Dave Ferguson. Posted in News

I am so blessed to have a front row seat to watch God on the move in Chicago.  Our Lincoln Square Campus continues to impact its community and help more people find their way back to God.  Our Edgewater Campus is in the beginning stages of a remarkable partnership with a local public school in their neighborhood that will result in amazing life change.  And just two weeks ago, I had the privilege of welcoming Eric Metcalf to be the Campus Pastor for our 3rd Chicago location in the Lincoln Park/Old Town community.

NewThing Leadership Residency Program

Written by Eric Metcalf. Posted in Residency

A few years ago, God gave NewThing a vision for a program that would recruit, develop and release potential church planters who would eventually plant reproducing churches: our NewThing Leadership Residency Program.  With this vision in mind, we challenged all the churches within NewThing to embrace a goal of 1 Leadership Resident >> Per Site >> Per Year.

To date, we have over 50 Residents who are being developed to launch new, reproducing churches all over the world and recently we were able to celebrate that over 70% over our church plants from the past 9 months have launch through a Leadership Resident.  Imagine the sheer force of 100's of churches recruiting, equipping, inspiring planters to launch movement thinking churches committed to the Jesus Mission of helping people find their way back to God - incredible

Missional Church Movements M.A.

Written by Eric Metcalf. Posted in News

NewThing is excited to partner with Wheaton College yet again to bring you a unique course called: Missional Church Movements.  As contemporary forms of church are changing, we need a new type of leader who wants to plant and grow reproducing churches, and extend the influence of the gospel into every sector and location of society.  We need missional churches and missional movements to reach the West and to reach the world.  We need missional Christians to serve their neighbor and to serve the poor.

The Masters in Missional Church Movements will expose you to the best missional and reproducing church thinkers and practioners in the world today.  And it will equip you to lead in the Church and in your community and workplace to bring the gospel to bear and see people transformed and neighborhoods and institutions influenced.

The new Masters is the culmination of a partnership between Rick Richardson and Alan Hirsch.  And as a participant in the course you would also get course work from NewThing co-founders, authors of Exponential and The Big Idea: Dave and Jon Ferguson.  And if you are a part of a NewThing Network, and lead in any capacity (volunteer or staff), NewThing's partnership with Wheaton translates into 25% off your tuition!  Simply contact Beth Seversen for details at  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
